DFW Claim Unit Replacement

Unified Supply was contracted by a partner to supply a replacement Uni-Claim slope plate unit for Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) Terminal E Claim Area.  The unit first came to the attention of Unified Supply through support parts.  When the time came to replace the unit, DFW put the project out for bid and Unified Supply was part of the winning bid.

The project then turned to the final design phase.  The existing unit was a unique triangular shape which created several problems.  In order to meet the fire safety requirements for the building the new unit had to have similar dimensions.  At the same time, the airport and end-user, Delta Airlines, desired more capacity from the new unit.

The solution was for Unified Supply to create a unit which contains some elements of the existing shape and will work seamlessly with the existing feeder belt conveyor.  After several revisions, the design was approved by airport personnel as the best combination of capacity and conformity to fire safety requirements.
