Mini Suites and Business Class Coming to Jet Blue

JetBlue appears primed to add business-class seating that also will include four “mini-suites” on some of its Airbus A321 jets, according to an Airbus filing with the Federal Aviation Administration.
Miller says Airbus made the filing to the FAA on behalf of JetBlue because it needs an exemption to outfit the aircraft in an atypical seating configuration. The filing says Airbus’ proposed A321 cabin configuration would be in a two-class layout featuring 16 business-class seats and 143 in coach.
“The Business Class includes 4 single seats that are ‘mini-suites’ types,” Airbus says in the filing, according to Miller.
JetBlue hopes to have the first of its two-class A321s flying on cross-country routes by early next year, according to Aviation Week, which adds that mini-suite exemptions “have previously been approved for other operators.”
