Spirit Airlines To Open D/FW Crew Base For Pilots, Flight Attendants

With all the new flights out of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, one had to wonder when Spirit Airlines would open a pilot or flight attendant crew base here.

Well, wonder no more. Spirit announced Tuesday that it is opening a crew base for both pilots and flight attendants as of Dec. 1. And it’s hiring flight attendants.

“The new base will be home to over 250 crew members, including approximately 170 flight attendants and 80 pilots by summer 2013,” Spirit said in its announcement. “In addition, Spirit’s maintenance base at DFW, which opened earlier this year, will grow to employ over 30 mechanics and maintenance support personnel by next summer.”
