United Airlines and Houston Mayor Annise Parker released a joint statement today declaring that work will begin by year’s end on their joint redevelopment project for Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). The project will be completed in three phases, with phase one expected to be completed by the end of 2013. Construction for the entire project is planned to take place over the next seven to 10 years.
IAH is the largest hub for United Airlines, which ranks as the largest airline in the world. The investment project coincides with an extension of United’s lease with IAH to 2027.
