Aeroponic Gardening at Chicago O’Hare Airport
Categories: Industry News | News
Chicago O’Hare Airport (ORD) is now the first airport to feature an aeroponic garden, a vertical gardening system, which utilizes water and a mineral solution rather than soil.
The garden sports 44 different herbs and vegetables in the rotunda building between terminals 2 and 3, as according to an ABC 7 News Chicago story.
The herbs and vegetables cultivated in this garden will be supplied to four of ORD’s restaurants so that travelers may enjoy this fresh, super-local produce.
