American Airlines Celebrates 30 Years of AAdvantage Loyalty Program

30,000 AAdvantage miles awarded to passengers of 15 AA Flights
The AAdvantage program idea was born in 1981, making this year its 31st birthday. The AAdvantage program is a loyalty system which allows American Airlines customers to earn frequent flyer miles at a variety of participating companies including hotels, car rental companies, and retail establishments.
To celebrate this 30th Anniversary, AA surprised the passengers of a select 15 American Airlines flights on August 1st and 2nd with gate parties and gift bags, which contained a voucher for inflight Wi-Fi, a complimentary drink coupon, and 30,000 AAdvantage miles, among other things.
